Donna took a seat in front of Josh. He was amused by how seriously she was
taking this whole raise thing.
"So my friend Steve and I were talking about our jobs and he casually
mentioned what he was making an hour. Do you know that it was more than
half of what I make?"
"Really?"
"Yes. And do you know what Steve does?"
"Sells himself on the street?"
"He answers phones, Josh."
"So do you.", He answered matter of factly.
"Yes, but that is ALL he does.", Donna said pointedly.
"Uh huh, Is their a point to this story because I really need to
finsish this summary to give to Leo."
"What I am trying to say here is that I do SO MUCH more and I make NOTHING.
Don't you see a problem with that?"
"No."
"Josh!"
"Donna!"
"Don't you.." Donna was cut off by the sounds of the phone
ringing. She frowned and picked up the reciever. "Josh
Lyman....yes...may I ask whose calling? Who?", Donna was unusually snippy
with the caller on the other end. "Hang on a minute he's right
here." Donna flung the phone at Josh. "It's for you it's some girl
named Kimmy Kelly. Josh's eyes got big. Donna had the urge to smack that
excited expression on his face.
"Really?"
"Why would I make that up?"
"You can leave now."
"What?"
"Goodbye Donna...we'll talk later."
Josh put the reciever to his ear. Donna stood up and loudly left the room
in a huff. Slamming the door behind her. Josh flinched at the sound but
continued talking.
"Kimmy Kelly...to what do I owe this phone call to?, Josh smiled into the
phone.
"It's been a long time, I know but I need help with something and I think
your the only one who can help.", Said the female voice on the other end.
"Well I live to serve. What do you need?"
Donna stood outside the door to Josh's office. She was pretending to fix
the stack of papers that laid on her dest but she was really trying to listen to
Josh's phone conversation. She heard Josh hang up the phone. And for the
second time in a half and hour she barged into his Office again.
