"Caitlin!" Toby Zeigler bellowed from his office the next day. "Where is that research on Spain's trading policies?" Caitlin looked up from her computer. "I'm printing it out right now." She then whispered to herself. "And they were worried no one would be able to treat me like a regular White House employee." "Bring it to the Oval Office when it is finished printing. The Ambassador is already here." Toby said coming out of his office in a rush. "No problem" Caitlin replied moving over to the printer as the document started to spew out. As soon as it was done she gathered the papers and headed towards the Oval Office. "Hi Mrs. Landingham." Caitlin said coming over to her desk and opening the lid to the cookie jar to see which type she had today. "None of that young lady. You'll ruin your lunch." Mrs. Landingham replied smiling. It was a little game they played. Mrs. Landingham had been President Bartlet's secretary for so long that she had watched Caitlin grow up before her eyes and loved her as one of her own. Caitlin still liked trying to steal a cookie after all of these years. She never did succeed though. "Are they ready for me?" Caitlin asked moving towards the door. "Go ahead in dear." Caitlin knocked on the door out of courtesy and opened it ready to drop off the report to Toby and make a hasty retreat. "This change in trading policies is very important to my country Mr. President." The Ambassador from Spain was saying as Caitlin entered. When he saw Caitlin he stopped and stood. Caitlin didn't notice the gesture and moved to Toby "Here you go." She whispered. She then turned and noticed the Ambassador standing. "Um..." "In my country it is customary to acknowledge the presence of a beautiful woman by standing when she enters a room." The Ambassador explained watching Caitlin intently. His gaze was not lost on anyone in the room, especially Sam. "I knew I always liked those romance language countries." Caitlin said smiling. "Ambassador this is my daughter Caitlin." The President said holding his hand out to Caitlin for her to come over. Caitlin walked over to the Ambassador and held out her hand. "Caitlin this is Ambassador Juan Castille of Spain." The President continued. "It's an honor to meet you Ambassador Castille." "The pleasure is mine." The Ambassador replied taking Caitlin's hand and kissing it softly. Caitlin smiled at the attention. 'He is quite possibly the most attractive man I've ever met' Caitlin thought. "I didn't mean to interrupt, I was just dropping off the report for Toby." "You work here?" the Ambassador asked. "Yes" Sam said coming to stand beside her. "She is our Senior Staff Assistant." 'I don't like him' Sam thought. "That is very wise, Mr. President." The Ambassador said continuing to stare at Caitlin. "If I had such a vision for a daughter I would keep her under close watch as well." "It was the best I could do since I've been told that I can't build a dungeon." The President said watching his daughter. "As much as I am enjoying this attention, and I am" Caitlin said softly, "I really need to get back to work." "Until we meet again me bonita." The Ambassador said.
"I'm looking forward to it." Caitlin said smiling as she made her way out.
